Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14) filed a criminal referral on Wednesday against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) over her alleged romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.
The criminal referral was sent to Governor Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr, and cites the recent filing by Michael Roman, who is a defendant in the Willis’ election case against former President Donald Trump.
Roman asked for the case against him to be dismissed, and for Willis (pictured above, left) to be barred from prosecuting the case against Trump, due to his allegation that Willis is engaged in an ongoing romantic relationship with Wade.
“Willis faces serious allegations that she illegally hired her secret boyfriend – Nathan Wade, who has never tried a felony case – as her special prosecutor to bring an unprecedented, complex, and partisan felony RICO prosecution against President Trump – the leading presidential contender for 2024 – along with 18 other co-defendants,” wrote Greene in her criminal referral.
Noting Wade (pictured above, middle) has received “nearly $700,000 in official funds” for his work, Greene claimed his hiring and vague invoices are “part of Fani Willis’ unlawful partisan pattern, through her words and deeds, to illegal politicize and weaponize her public office to wage lawfare against President Trump for the purpose of interfering in the 2024 presidential election.” Greene further acknowledged Willis “allegedly enriched her secret boyfriend and herself during this process.”
Announcing her criminal referral on X, formerly Twitter, Greene called for “an immediate criminal investigation.”
I sent a criminal referral to GA Gov Kemp and GA AG Chris Carr expressing my serious concerns that Fulton Co DA Fani Willis has engaged in criminal misconduct with her alleged lover Nathan Wade who she hired as her top prosecutor.

Greene alleged that Willis broke Georgia statutes by violating her oath of office, committing bribery, receiving private compensation in exchange for influence, engaging in racketeering conspiracies to commit crime and defraud Georgia governments, making false statements, and a Fulton County law preventing local government officials from receiving gifts or other compensation in exchange for favors.
Article III Project founder and former Chief Counsel for Nominations for Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) Mike Davis wrote in a post on X that the alleged criminality outlined by Greene could land Willis and Wade in prison.
A private defense attorney, Wade has earned almost $654,000 for his work on the case against Trump, and the number is likely to rise substantially, as the latest reporting does not include Wade’s compensation for work in November 2023 or December 2023.
Invoices and credit card statements also included by Roman in his filing indicate Wade met with Biden administration officials to discuss the case up to three times, and reveal that he may have conferenced with the January 6 Committee in the U.S. House.
